About SAIL Central America
Thomas Mussoni
In 1976, Thomas suffered a detached retina, resulting in permanent vision loss in his right eye. By 2013, a cataract formed in that same eye, leading to complete blindness. Faced with the prospect of living the rest of his life without sight, Thomas endured what he described as the darkest week of his life. However, he soon discovered that cataract surgery could restore his vision and reclaim his future.
After a successful surgery, Thomas found a renewed purpose: to help others regain their sight. He established SAIL Central America, dedicating himself to raising funds for individuals worldwide in need of vision-restoring surgeries. His efforts have transformed countless lives and strengthened communities, turning his personal journey into a powerful mission to give the gift of sight to those in need.
OUR MISSION & STRATEGY
SAIL (Save And Improve Lives) Central America is a federally approved 501c3. They maximize impact by collaborating with trusted local organizations that have the necessary equipment, logistics, and medical staff to provide essential surgeries. While these partnerships streamline the process, each surgery still incurs costs that need to be addressed. That’s where SAIL Central America steps in. We raise funds in the United States to sponsor patients in need of sight-restoring surgeries. With no overhead costs, every dollar donated goes directly to helping more individuals regain their vision.
